Perform Like a Pro - Success Stories

Before today I had never sang my own material in front of anyone.  I felt comfortable with Craig and the other participants in the workshop.  I was surprised that so many were in the same boat as I.  through positive reinforcement and encouragement I felt at ease by the end of the day.  I will not be as nervous in front of audience again.

-Laura Burke

The workshop was great!  The material is right on, and presented in a fun, non-threatening way.  The opportunity to gain feedback and insight into your performance is invaluable.  I will definitely recommend the workshop to anyone who would like to improve their public speaking or performance skills.  Craig did a terrific job!!

What a confirmation that I am on "the right track".  I certainly picked up a format on structure in which to perform, in addition to the items that will allow me to better communicate my message even more effectively.  This was applicable to my singing performance and to my "day job" as a speaker and workshop facilitator.  Nice investment of a Sunday Afternoon to make such progress.  Thank you Craig!

- Kelly McCormack

The Performance workshop was indeed successful.  I feel more comfortable about singing and performing in front of people.  The only test is a REAL performance.  Craig is wonderful!  And the other who attended the workshop with me were awesome!   Each with beautiful voices.  Much luck and best wishes to all of them.

Because of Craig I feel more confident in myself and am less nervous about singing and performing my songs; not only on Sunday, but for anytime I'm doing a performance.  Thank you sooo much!

Through the Performance Workshop, I was able to focus my message of song.  I feel inspired to perform as an artist now, and not simply a singer.  I only hope that I can apply these skills in the future because i can truly see the difference.

- Vanessa Simmarano

In the Performance Workshop I had a few realizations about myself and I am very excited about that!  Also, the pointers I got pertaining to my performance are very helpful to me in that it assists me in creating a picture and delivering my message to the audience.  Thanks, Craig!

I learned how to get in touch with the song I was singing emotionally.  I was happy that I was able to get up and sing and perform for a small audience.  i had fun today!

I feel stronger as a singer and performer now that I took the Performance Workshop.  Now I'm not as nervous, and I can have more control over myself.  Craig was great with helping me find who I am as a performer.

- Rachel Brandano

Craig was particularly good at constructively criticizing the performances and aiding us in capturing the songs and putting our emotions into them.  Also [the Performance Workshop is] good training for how to connect with an audience. I like the use of the Emotional Tone Scale, too.

- George Deptula

This workshop was very helpful in thinking about and understanding what the purpose of performance is and why using music for communication is so important.  I feel like I will be able to connect to an audience much better now and not draw into myself as much and feel awkward.  I know I have to practice what I learned today a lot to get where I want to, but I definitely have a new consciousness.

- Evie Southwick

Great workshop! It taught me aspects of performance which I never realized before (applause, communication, ownership). It had made me think a lot about how I will perform in the future.

- Zeb Portanova

This Performance Workshop gave me helpful insights regarding what to do/not do and how to release the emotions you want to communicate to the audience.  The end of the workshop, in which each of us has a chance to perform a song a capella and get the others feedback, is especially useful.  I'm glad that I was recommended this workshop.  Now I can't wait to use these new skills on stage soon!

"It gives you a feeling of great satisfaction and joy knowing that you can reach deep down into yourself, and return, to share that part of you with someone else.  This is what it means to be an Artist.  As Artists, we have the ability to let people see the beauty that we see; to feel the emotions that we feel.  We are the magic makers of the world, weaving our tapestries of thought and emotion, creating positive change in those we touch."
